Food served on a small plate. Coffee 6/10. Egg a little under cooked. On menu says 2 tomatoes...they mean 2 half tomatoes. If your hungry this place will not fill your stomach!

Lovely cafe .....Always very good food. Perfectly cooked and presented. The service is always very good with lovely smiley faces where nothing seems too much trouble. Not a complaint but the door needs a better closing catch. People think they are closing the door but then it swings open. This happened at least a dozen times during our lunch. Very cold in the winter. The garden centre has very good quality goods. Very nice to look around after lunch. Great place to purchase gifts. Toilets could be better. My mother with arthritis knees had trouble getting up the high step in. Cold and small and just seems like in a shed! All in all a lovely place to come.

The man who deals with selling & packaging up the real Christmas trees is lovely. We visited Saturday 25/11/23 and he couldn't have been more helpful and kind. Thankyou! :)

A very specific review about the environmental genius that I encountered today - RHS and Oliver’s combining with Melcourt composts to being you plastic free compost! Buy a reusable bag, fill it with the help of a large spade and a natty little wooden box, take it to the till, return, refill, repeat! The bag is also great for a host of other garden uses in between times! Currently on offer for £2.99 so a combined price of £11.99 for a full reusable bag. Love it. 💚

Nice garden centre to visit with a fairly good selection of plants shrubs trees etc. On my last visit it looked like they were getting ready to start selling the expensive garden furniture. Tearoom with plenty of space to enjoy a quick drink and cake or a full meal. Prices are average. In season you can pick your own strawberries and the children can enjoy the Maize trail. Certainly worth a visit.

Great day in the Maize Maze. Two kids under 3 so just paid for the adults. The place is well spread out but you can see everything so if you had older kids you could just let them run free. Sand pit, mini golf, hay bail climbing, few little ball games and a water balloon fight arena. The maize maze is very hard and took us an hour and a half pushing a buggy around and chasing a 3 year old. People have pushed through a few extra paths but doesn't ruin the fun. Don't go in needing the toilet and there are no seats so be prepared for a long walk. Take a packed lunch to keep the day affordable as there are picnic benches and plenty of space for blankets. Only criticism is there's nothing for really little ones. Would be nice to have a matted area and some soft blocks and balls but they have a sand pit.

We drove down to witham to visit the maize maze - went on a Sunday and got there about 10.30, it was nice and quiet so we went straight to the maze. It cost 6 quid a person, under 3 is free - so we just paid for me and the wife. Paid an extra quid for a map (which is refundable if you don't use it). Also got given an activity card to stamp the animals when we find them in the maze (we found 7...) our 2.5 year old loved running about the maze and we managed to get to both the scaffold structures to see our progress. We was prob in the maze just over an hour - glad it wasnt baking hot! The pram wasnt too bad to push round as the ground was fairly solid and paths fairly wide in most places. After the maze we popped over to activity field for crazy golf (free - just get clubs and balls from shack), duck race (2.5 yr old enjoyed this but struggled to pump as it big high for him), catapult, hook the duck, hay climbing, go karts (which me and wife also did!), and a play in the sand. In total we was there just over 2 hours - could have been there a bit longer but some rumbly tummies were calling. Worth a visit if in area, the only bits we think that could be improved is the toilets (bit rough round the edges), and as per one of the other reviews a small area for the very small people would have been useful.
